A good karate athlete has:
- Perseverance
- Respect and honesty
- Willingness to give everything
- Stay calm in all situations
- Train at home
- Respect for the opponent
- Ensure the opponent is okay
- Challenge yourself, not compete against others
- Involve the opponent in your own game to win
- Fight outside the dojo only for self-defense or defense of others
- Eat healthy
- Drink enough water
- Overcome weaknesses and defeats
- Flee if you have no weapon but the opponent does
